MY NAME IS MEGHAN....
And I’m a Holistic doula, herbalist and breathwork teacher passionate about supporting women through conception, pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
I come from a long line of nurturers. My grandmother was a folk herbalist who had all of her eleven children unassisted at home and I grew up surrounded by women and babies. Care-work was such a part of my life that I didn’t recognize it as a skill until much later. But just before I turned 30- while an aunt was very sick- I spent the week with my mother and three of her five sisters. I watched them move around each another like water: soothing, connecting, cooking, healing and I finally saw how powerful it was to nurture. And that is in my bones. I was the child more interested in my sister-in-law’s pregnancies than anything else and couldn’t wait to visit my postpartum neighbors. Whether watching the baby or just helping around the house I was a doula before I ever knew there was a word for it.
I spent my twenties teaching children and freelance writing. During this time I traveled and lived in over thirty countries, which was a wild adventure! It taught me invaluable lessons about respecting people from different cultures with different backgrounds and beliefs. This helps me hold a space of non-judgment and curiosity in my work as a doula.
In the last thirteen years I’ve studied and taught a variety of modalities from meditation and yoga to shamanism, massage, herbalism, breathwork and birth work. Exploring these many sides of wellness helped me heal my own anxiety, nervous system burnout and hormonal issues. And I now weave together this knowledge to support others.
